Our Yoga Offerings

Feldenkrais.

The Feldenkrais Method is a unique somatic experience that helps to improve coordination and balance while reducing pain and fatigue. By using small movements, we access the brain and nervous system to create more pleasure and ease in movement, which leads to more pleasure and ease in everyday life!

Gentle.

Gentle Yoga is practice that is accessible for every body and offers nurturing, kindness, and compassion. It is a calmly paced class that explores yoga slowly and carefully. Gentle Yoga may contain some meditation and will focus on calming pranayama (breathing techniques), all with the intent to soothe the mind and reduce stress.

Hatha.

Hatha Yoga is a slow paced class in which focus is on breath, controlled movements, and stretching. You will get a gentle introduction to basic yoga postures and breath work. You might not work up a major sweat, but you’ll leave class feeling longer, looser, and more relaxed. Hatha is a great, accessible class for all levels.

Restorative.

Restorative Yoga is a delicious way to relax and soothe frayed nerves. We use bolsters, blankets, and blocks for support while you settle into passive poses, so the body can experience the benefits of a pose without having to exert any effort. Restorative yoga can feel more rejuvenating than a nap and just about everyone could use some profound rest.

Yin.

Yin is a non-muscular practice, in which poses are held for extended periods of time - around 5 minutes or so - either laying down or seated. Yin helps to settle our busy and active yoga practice, and at times life! Yin is different from Restorative due to the fact you want to feel sensation in your body while practicing Yin.

Yoga Nidra

Yoga nidra involves slowing down and chilling out. So does meditation. While some people tend to lump them together, they really are two different practices. Yoga nidra is like meditation, but yet it’s not. There are overlaps, but there also are key differences. With yoga nidra, you are lying down and the goal is to move into a deep state of conscious awareness sleep, which is a deeper state of relaxation with awareness. A recent study showed that while meditation and yoga nidra were both effective in reducing anxiety and stress, yoga nidra seemed to be more effective in reducing anxiety. The study also suggested that yoga nidra can be a useful tool in reducing both cognitive and physiological symptoms of anxiety.
